Bad PR for China is a recent event? They have to renew their excuses to make them look up to date. China makes most of its fortunes from its domestic market because the US has been engineering to keep China out since colonialism. It's the same how the West didn't develop One Belt One Road countries and countries in Africa. It cost too much money. They weren't going to develop China either. And because of that China can withstand a lot more attacks on its economy unlike the West. The US could stop China but it will be an act of war. If war was so easy for the US, then why haven't they started it already with China? It's because they're afraid of the consequences. They can't even start with ending trade. China isn't as arrogant to proclaim to the world needs China or can go it alone. That's why the world isn't going to so easily blindly obey the US when some think the US can order the world to not do business with China. The world needs China to buy their goods. They aren't going to give it up so easily unless the US plans to cough up the money they lose from not doing business with China. If it's so easy, why doesn't the US do it? The fact is it's a game of bluff. If you don't need China you don't need to bluff and just do it! The EU isn't banning Chinese tourists who spend the most in the world. Why don't they send a message to China and just ban them permanently since the US is so omnipotent and should be easily be able to order the EU to? Where are the stories of how China is lying about how many people in China are infected? Why don't they use that to get the EU to not let any Chinese in? Because it's propaganda like everything else you're reading against China. Just do it
PR stunts are over-rated.
Plus you forget it is the Taiwanese constitution which says Taiwan is a province of Greater China.
You need to think and research before making a statement.
US conventional ballistic missiles aren't moving to Asia anytime soon as you say.
There is at least another 5 years of development before any of them are ready for initial deployment.
The US basing ballistic missiles on Taiwan is pointless. China can credibly obtain air superiority and blockade Taiwan.
Then where does that leave the ballistic missiles on Taiwan?
Japan is highly unlikely to allow US ballistic missile units to roam around its country.
We can see Japan has decided it will be as neutral as possible in a US-China contest.

Well, US tends to do PR stunts but China has more substance. China goes to the SCS and takes islands and builds them while the US sails in circles. India tried barking at America's order, China beat them back and advanced its territory. I like the Chinese way better.

It's not a coherent policy. It's confers short-term advantage to the USA, but drives China to outspend the USA in building a larger hi-tech ecosystem. In the long-run, Chinese technology companies will look to replace American technology companies around the world.
Previously, Chinese technology companies were happy to use US tech, but that is no longer an option.
I think China has decided to make it clear that India joining an anti-China alliance like the QUAD is not an option.
China has past form on this point with the 1951 Korean War and 1979 Sino-Vietnamese War.
And that one of the punishments could be occupied Kashmir/Ladakh being liberated from oppressive police state operated by the Indian Army. There are also 7million angry Muslims in the Kashmir Valley, and suppose China and Pakistan work together to prevent the Indian Army from reaching Kashmir.

Whether India ban or not ban anything from China are both in China’s favour. Not banning is obvious so let’s look at a prolong ban.
Whether it’s going without the goods or paying a greater prices for goods from elsewhere, both will put pressure on their economy, not everyone care about the nationalism but everyone care about the economy and standard of living. There will some that would be willing to suffer the consequences and there will be others, and I suspect a majority, who are more concerned about their livelihood. This will in turn make India more unstable, when people’s livelihoods are at risk or are in ruins, no amount of spin will undo the damage, and India gov is unlikely or would be unable to subsidise all these people.
As for apps, there will be people whose job and/or income will be directly involved, the situation will be the same as above. If other companies cannot replace all the jobs or lost income it would be the same situation as above.
Either way it favours China, so why waste energy to make those who are on the fence choose the opposite side. If China take additional actions then it would be China ruining their live or can be spun that way, if China does nothing, then it is the Indian gov doing this to them and will be harder to spin.
