India has banned WeChat and TikTok. About 30% of TikTok's user base was in India. Another gut punch to a Chinese company thanks to a border clash that achieved nothing.
Good, it will teach China realism in IR.

Dumb emotional move...China should ban import of Indian goods, ban export of high tech equipments, Pharma or manufacturing of cell phones etc in India as retaliation. They could do a joint exercise with south asian nations just to poke in India's nose too.
You completely misinterpreted what I wrote. That statement I made is justifying why it is good for China, not justifying why the US should kick out Chinese companies (which they wanted to do anyway). As for the war question, the reality is this: the Chinese and US will inevitably have a showdown due to the US's belief in that the Chinese want to be the international leader and its underlying racism. Before you mention how China should garner allies by sacrificing land, those countries won't join since they are too weak. Perhaps countries like Japan might join due to behind-the-doors coersion from the US but most countries won't. Best example is the Phillipines.By that standard, the US should ban all exports from China and recognize Taiwan independence because "it'll teach Chinese companes and Chinese people in general not to be naive". I mean you can use the same logic to justify any anti-China action by the US. Do you want a war?
It'll teach Chinese companies and Chinese people in general not to be naive about the US and look at it as if it were some sort of god-like entity. Plus, at this point, the US is more reliant on China instead of the other way around due to the coronavirus. The greatest example is the US airline industry. If you want to talk about this type of news, you should go to the Chinese economics thread to do so.
On the other hand:
What would your version of "realism" be? Don't hit back when attacked?Good, it will teach China realism in IR.
Dumber post...Dumb move...
The message I'm getting is China should keep focus on its military buildup and the US getting is desperate to look alive with PR stunts because everything that matters has been going wrong for it recently.US special forces training in taiwan. Good PR from US and a message to China and Asia.
Putting pressure on china to reveal its card
Strong PR is not bout stoping USG smear aticles on China but to discredit entirely USG globally on those issue. And it is so easy to discredit US and i can't understant how China gov is so weak at this. How strong does your PR have to be such that the media of a rival country wouldn't dare write smear articles about you?
What would your version of "realism" be? Don't hit back when attacked?
Yes, China military is altering the military balance. And US military is moving. US land based conventional ballistic missile is coming in Asia. The message I'm getting is China should keep focus on its military buildup and the US getting is desperate to look alive with PR stunts because everything that matters has been going wrong for it recently.
