Solid booster department also had something for China's Space Day. They have very likely started next-gen solid-propellant development and enter into bidding phase.

According to the official news, the propellant design department set up ten pioneering team.
重大战略型号竞标"天刺"突击队
The leading team is called as "Important strategic model bidding 'Sky Stinger' pioneering team."

Another interesting team is “Supporting military products multiplied in three years pioneering team,” indicating that they are aiming to double the production rate of "something military related" by the end of 14th Five Year plan, probably propellant binder or something else.

China pushes largest-ever expansion of nuclear arsenal

This involves not only ramping up the production of warheads, but also upgrading the ability to deliver them with a nuclear triad: missiles, aircraft and submarines.

"The changes that are taking place or under way are very significant" and "will turn China from a state that has a nuclear retaliatory capability to one that is the world's third major nuclear power", Eric Heginbotham, Principal Research Scientist at MIT's Center for International Studies, told AFP.

"This will mark the first time in history that the big nuclear powers will need to consider not one potential nuclear competitor, but two, and it will have implications for nuclear planning and stability everywhere."

They still don't really know what's going on. 3rd largest enrichment program in the world, they go apeshit over Iranian enrichment, yet don't realize that U enrichment is sufficient for a device?

Not even a hypothetical: they were surprised at both of the first Chinese tests because they thought they'd use Pu and found no breeders.

Technologically you are right, graphite moderate is far simpler in design but these reports generally said that graphite moderated reactor produces WgPu far slower and less concentrated than breeder. As a result, one needs to constantly reprocess the low burnup spent fuel, requiring a reprocessing capacity China doesn't have.

From "China’s Civil Nuclear Sector: Plowshares to Swords?"

WgPu to spent fuel ratio
FBR reactor: 35kg WgPu/t
CANDU: 1kg WgPu/t
Graphite: 1.77kg WgPu/t

It is not public report, only mentioned in one sentence here.

Since there is no other report on where the new reactor is and ppl simply doesn't even know what 404 is.
You could check satellite image regarding new round of 404 expansion if you want but I suspect one can find anything determining there.

Wait how CANDU produces less WgPu than Graphite reactors? Heavy water absorbs less neutrons. Does it generate more Pu-240 (which would require more frequent fuel changes)?

Nuclear warhead storage security cavalry company.

Nuclear blast to right of them,
Nuclear blast to left of them,
Nuclear blast in front of them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with fallout and fireball,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of nuke,
Into the mouth of hell
Rode the six hundred.
