Which brings us back to the name Occupy Central and its relation to Occupy Wall Street. The protesters want more political power to address worsening everyday issues for the average Hong Kong local including the lack of well paying jobs, the lack of affordable housing, and policies on a wide range of issues from the environment to the lack of a social safety net which all in some way relate back to big business being favored at the expense of everyone else.
They should look around to the rest of the World. This is the problem nearly every where. Take a look at

No one here has "ulterior motives", surely not, but the party will not be able to stifle people who have learned to think for themselves, and the more they repress the newly enlightened, the more obvious their brand of tyranny becomes. We in the Western World are free to speak our minds and our hearts, and we do, we do try to respect others in the process.....
My wife complains, she's younger than me but also she sees many more people at the university, that so few people have learned to think for themselves.

You are free to indulge in any speculation including that the British planted a time bomb or virus in the system that would eventually create strife. In my mind, democracy is a messy business and we are just seeing an example rather than any conspiracy.

Let me share with you this: What he says is what most Chinese believe. And of course, you are free to indulge in the idea shared by oh so many equally (as the rest of the human species) brainwashed poor bastards that we Chinese are still deprived of the right of speaking out what we really think of the state of our domestic affairs, and that we are so ignorant of what's going on in China and in the world... You would be right though if you think we can't always act on whatever we think are wrong with our government or local governments. But seriously, can you in your country? I mean, other than protesting, ranting, and mostly pretend you actually have decided who becomes your next president, what else can you actually do to corrct your government's course of actions?

Buddha said, "Lust is emptiness, emptiness is lust." Therefore, Democracy is Communism, Communism is Democracy.

Hehe, what the Budha said actually is something more like: Substance is nothingness, and notingness substance... But I suspect you were just toying with rehtoric.

Yet, to say communism is democracy may just turn out to be of truth, if communism materializes someday in the future in the form of a countryless, moneyless, highly spiritually and materially developed world community... or a certain Federation of the Solar System. ;)

I was reading an article about a drunk British citizen causing trouble on an airliner coming from Hong Kong. In the comments most of the Hong Kongers as usual trying blame anything negative coming from Hong Kong charging he was from Mainland China. Now they're covering for the British which only gives credence that these anti-China rallies are the brainwashed doing it for their colonial masters and not for democracy. If these protestors actually cared about democracy, they would've started with their British masters since they gave zero democracy to Hong Kong during their 156 year occupation.

Also anyone playing stocks should avoid anything to do with gambling. I suspect China will start to give Macau a slow death since they're starting to follow Hong Kong. More and more it seems likely Beijing will open Hainan Island to gambling turning Macau back to the dregs of humanity.

you don't need to quote me jesus because i'm not a Christian. stating how the brits had ruled the colony of HK and how they didn't want to return it to china but had no choice is not 'bone picking'. it's interesting how some westerners always like to quote jesus or some parts or verse of the bible when they have conversations with others. I've never met an indian guy who would say ''you know Vishnu said............." or a scientologist say "you know Ron Hubbard said........."

Lol don't get me started with 'Confucius said...'

no sir I would not go there cause it's way off topic and religion is forbidden here:eek: but i'll just end with a quote from my favorite actor, Mr.hollywood big shot himself, Tom Cruise "To be a scientologist is a privilege". yeah tom cruise is really into it!

Interesting how like during the handover Hong Kongers were playing drama queen begging for the world to save them from the Chinese. All it did was scare Western expatriates and money out of Hong Kong. Now they're shooting themselves in the foot again. Singapore, a more authoritarian state. The irony...
