Cool to see more and more of the J-11BH fleet transitioning to low vis scheme.Naval Aviation University winter 2025 training commences.
I think this is per demand on what the PLAAF orders or a certain type according to a certain standard. But that's just a guess ... in case the J-10B/C it is similar: the first batch (B) had almost 56, the first C-batch (aka Batch 02) had even more - 0275 is the highest known - and from then on they had 40-20 ...
Since I was a teen and saw the old Su-27 for the first time in a Japanese manga, it always struck me as one of the most beautiful aircraft ever. It looks almost like it could be alive. It is probably a big part of why I fell in love with military hardware.Elephant walk.

Officially just a ETC Brigade, but Foolsball again saw something interesting:
Even more interesting: So far I don't remember any active Su-27SK/UBK-J-11/J-11A-unit in the ETC anymore!
So what unit could this be? The "reformed" 42nd Air Brigade with got these legacy Flankers from the 41st Air Brigade at Wuyishan, when it converted to J-20 in Mid 2023?

Will Chinese Flankers be around for awhile, or is replacement with more modern types going to happen soon?
I mean, to me the Flanker seems very viable still and should remain so, but Chinese military aviation is advancing technologically at a pace faster than I would have ever imagined. I am wondering how long we'll see Chinese Flankers as a frontline platform ...

Well USAF is still buying F15EX and USN F/A18E/F and Euros still buying Typhoon and Rafale so the 4.5 gens will be around for quite a while I expect. Not every mission requires stealth and supercruise.
Okay then, I see. Do you think the single-seat Flankers will still be around for some years as well? Or just two-seaters?
Somewhere here I read the single-seat aircraft would be phased out for 5th Gen aircraft. Maybe I am remembering it wrong or misunderstood.
