Pardon … the first two digits denote the production batch, and the last two are for the individual aircraft within this batch: So this is the 19th J-16 built within Batch 13.

Yes. And according to Shenhua on Weibo, this should be indicative of a new weapon that is being/has been tested on this J-16.

I need to check again, but per my understanding most batches (in fact all but one I think) is of 24 aircraft (onyl) so per my count I think there should be about 320 J-16

for most yes, but I think three early batches had even up to 40 each, so a rough guess would be 3x40 + 9x24 + 3 = 339 not counting the additional J-16D

Sorry ... there was a typo in it: All but the third is IMO 24, the Batch 03 is IMO 30-32 so in sum my estimate still the same.
