Still rarely seen, images of PLAAF J-16 carrying a targeting or designator pods and even here I'm not sure, if it is the YINGS III / /Type 390 targeting pod or the guidance pod for the KD-88 and YJ-91?

And in fact, I don't remember any image showing a J-16 carrying LGBs.

I've already replied to you on twitter lol, but I think that pod is the KD-88 datalink pod.

This is what the J-16 targeting pod looks like, and note the distinctive air intake on the top left of the targeting pod, which is not present on those pictures.

Interesting detail to distinguish between a J-16 and a J-16D: Due to the huge jammer pods on the J-16D's wings, the red and green navigation lights are duplicated and separated at the top and bottom in contrast to a normal J-16, which has only one light per pylon.
