My apology for not being more clear as I mean well before MFD got popular on domestic Chinese fighters. I believe earliest chinese fighter with glass cockpit it J-8F (its MFD is quite crude I would say) which enter the service at similar time frame of MKK if not a bit later. Though I have to admit MKK's cockpit is a bit more modern than I thought.

Don't know if this has been posted here, but all J-11B will be upgraded into J-11BGH, it will have WS-10 engine, a large AESA and will carry PL-10, PL-15 and PL-XX. The PL-XX is rumored to have up to 500 KM range, used to target refueling tanker and AWACS. The AESA will have 400 KM detection range.

I think the whole J-11B fleet has WS-10 engines now, not "will have".

I assume just the PLANAF ones will become BGH, and the PLAAF ones B(S)G?

Did he say anything about other upgrades? eg cockpit, ECM?

It said all J-11B from both Navy and Airforce will be converted. The other older variants of the flankers (J-11A, Su30MKK and Su30MK2) will be retired. In addition to the radar, the electronic system will be also upgraded.

He also said that since j11D (not EW version) project was stopped, it is possoble that its avionics and sensors would be used to upgrade existing J11B/J11BH during MLU, converting them to J11BG/J11BHG.
