I know, but why don't you post a source of your reports & rumours? Your recent list of brigades getting new types, now this and also the rumour concerning the 15th AB (which in fact does not fly J-8s but JH-7s and as such would be a major news!) .... is it so difficult to tell us, where you get this from?

No confirmation for 15 brigade at this point. People saying saw some 78th J-8IIs at Beijing Air Museum. I have checked most rumored air force airports on GE. I have found that most rumored airports have built or been building new hangars. Some of them have received some new jets.

No, the nozzles look the same as they've always looked, which is to say: they are WS-10s.

These are just the typical long feathers on the latest WS-10B Series 03 engines.

Nine batches is impressive. Assuming a conservative figure of 24 aircraft per production batch, that is already more than 210 J16 by now.
