Chongming Island has military base? I thought it was a designated ecological special zone. No industry, no polution. Could have been better in places like Nantong or Yangzhou instead of Chongming Island.

It takes some effort to locate the airbase, you can check the location inside the yellow box using GE.

what about 111 from korla, is that one confirmed to be 16 or 20?

I still have it listed with J-11Bs! ... but you rarely get images from there, not even via GE and if, you often enough see something else like civil airliners and JH-7As.

Nine batches is impressive. Assuming a conservative figure of 24 aircraft per production batch, that is already more than 210 J16 by now.

Indeed, and as units we actually have the 176th, 172nd and 175th FTTB Brigades, which I rate as not a fully brigade and more as training units and we have the 7th, 40th, 98th, 3rd, 26th 99th (still unconfirmed) and the 78th.

Again please provide a source or explain … why do you think the 8th & 9th batches are 26 J-16s each?
