How does the J-11B compare to the SU-30MK2?

I wonder which gap is bigger , US versus China or China versus Vietnam?

apparently, Vietnam is buying 12 SUM-30MK2 to counter China along with the 6 kilos.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh wellll ... Chinese GDP is about 40 (yes, forty) times bigger than Vietnamese and China military expenditure is 4.3% GDP and Vietnam 2.5% GDP

GDP (trillion $) PPP (trillion $) Military Expe (%GDP)
US 14.0 *** 14.0 *** 4.5%
China 4.2 *** 7.8 *** 4.3%
Vietnam 0.09 *** 0.25 *** 2.5%

Does the figure above tell you something ? :))))

Official Chinese figure for military spending is $70 billion, which amounts to 1.7% of the GDP.

Yes, but it doesn't include R & D, 2nd artilery, nuke, foreign purchase, etc, etc ... I think 4.3% is more or less quite accurate for the sake of comparing apple to apple spending

the data is from CIA factbook

Dont go by US or Chinese figures. Both are biased. An independent group in Sweden called SIPRI estimates Chinas military spending at about 2% of GDP. The US Defense Department would love to inflate that number to 4% to justify their own spending.

agree! in 1994 pentagon admited that caspar weinberger did deliberate inflate soviet military estimate, actually CIA calculate that soviet military spending in 80's in fact goes down .pentagon told to suppress the CIA report.

12 Su30mk2 without AEW plane to China means nothing, but those 6 kilos sell to Vietman will be trouble for China.

Doesn't China have a lot of Kilos in their arsenal? They should know well how to operate and counter these subs. By the way, I wonder if the Kilos sold to Vietnam carry the same equipment as those sold to China?

China has total 12 kilos, but 8 of them are new type. China face many hostile country, some of the neighboring countries have territorial waters dispute, the most important thing to is that the US-Japan military alliance is a threat to China's largest, as well as the Taiwan issue .... when Vietnam and the skilled hands of the Kilo, would be in the South China Sea to contain China.

during the iran iraq war, China exchange military equipment and ammunition with both countries,to obtain MiG-23 (from iraq) and F-14 radar system (from iran).

Why would they still be interested in the MIG-23 from the Iraqis, they already got 6 from the Egyptians during the 70s.
