I have been reading some Chinese defence forum lately, and I have a realy realy bad feeling that China is going to buy 24 Su-35 this time.

This thime is for real. I personally do not understand one bit the reasons for this purchase. Is it for 117S engine? Or is it that this SAC(Sheng Yang) piece of SH!T fu@K up!!

Dear moderator: I would have posted this in the thread called "Chinese purchase of Su-35", were it not for the fact that that thread is closed.

Anyways, my opinion on the matter it that if indeed China purchases 24 Su-35s, rather than an actual need, its probably more of a political move by China to try to re-enforce ties/influence with the Russian Arms Industry, more specifically with Sukhoi. If they allow things to drift further apart or be severed completely, then they would basically be forcing Sukhoi into the arms of India, as they would essentially be their only major source of income. In other words, if China bought a few planes from Sukhoi then they could maintain some influence with Sukhoi instead of none. Who knows, through this deal, maybe China could also gain a backroom entry into the developement of the PAK-FA (like being invited to a demonstration etc), so they would actually know its true capabilities instead of having to guess.

If the su-35 thread is closed, then thats because theres no news worth opening it. You should learn to relax, and realize that PLA is very secretive. Without information from PLA, people inevitably resort to rumours. Thats why this rumour is going on for the last 6 years.

Relax there Jr., there are a lot of reasons these things might or might not happen, 1. It gives you capability now instead of in five years, 2 It gives you access to the 117s which will benefit engine development on lots of different levels, so lets not beat up the folks who make these decisisions, lets just relax and see how this all plays out! How does buying Su-35 is going to help? Su-35 will not be delivered until 2015. It makes no sense !

The only reason for Su-35, I think is for 117S, so that J-20 can reach IOC sooner like 2015 !

I think China is using them as a decoy in a UAV type scenario, IF they do purchase them.

I believe you're right Steel, it prolly is the mockup, but Mig won't be laughing at you, just the old AFB, kind of goes back to being a little more open about all these little deals, Shenyang and the PLAN are playing up, some of these things are in play, and I'd bet my last Ben Franklin that Chengdu would like to find a coupla spare 117s for their little bird, in fact it wouldn't surprise the AFB to see the 117s in the J-20 this year, but then I've been watchin this little dance for a long, long time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Gentlemen, I hope Santa Claus brings you all a new Flanker or J-10B for being good boys. Oh and guys I could be all wet here, but its just been kinda a hunch, and if I'm wrong, I prolly am, cause this would be a long shot, but we'll see, exciting new year ahead guys, hang on!
