Not MSA, CMS and FLEC. MSA has never engaged in any territorial dispute law enforcement activities, it's a maritime traffic regulation and rescue agency.
Sorry, it is CMS.

Word on the street is that MSA ships and airplanes in East China Sea is gathering up for a big operation. Also East Sea Fleet is gearing up to support. Diaoyudao is the target. we will see.
Okay is it just me - or does this vessel's hull look suspiciously like 056 OPV , especially in pic 2 in the Hawaiian visit series (down the the backwards-pointing exhaust funnels)?
Are the shipyards just modifying the designs between the Coast Guard and Navy?
Read on other blog sites that Luda DDG 131 "Nanjing" has been decommissioned after 35 years of service but will be refitted as a CMS vessel. Looks like it's not a foregone conclusion that all newly commissioned CG vessels will be new. Perhaps the recent disputes has put an impetus to having more CG vessels available? Refit with water cannon armaments?
i see it as China being cheap and not willing to let go of ships that they should. I don't think CMS wants these old ships because it adds a lot to the maintenance cost. It would much rather have new 3000 ton ships, but some bureaucrats just can't think straight. They are like if the ship can still operate, why not use it in a reduced patrolling capacity?
I am extremely curious as to what kind of refit the Luda would receive for CMS service.
I see the four ships as keen jerk reaction to the Diaoyu island conflict, yes CMS rather have new ships, and they are getting them, but with close to 20 ships of 1000t or above on order it'll take time for them to become operational. Meanwhile we have four ships retired from PLAN that can be converted within a year to become CMS patrol ships. Out of the four ships, 131 and 162 will provide a fast response cutter that can respond quickly to intrusions, while 226 and 830 are larger displacement ships that can stay in the area for extended period of time. They will provide a stop gap measure for the next three years until all the dedicated CMS ships can enter service, and let them design the next generation of high performance cutters.
New diesel engine, communication gear, video recorder, fish finder, UAV facilities, weapons change, quite extensive it turns out.
