Uh wouldn't the opposite way be definitely way too far though? Like if it's 10000km direct path wouldn't it be 30000km other way?
Try it on any maps app. Remember that for northern hemisphere to northern hemisphere it's shorter than you'd expect since the earth is smaller far from the equator and you can take polar routes (another reason why Russia has such a strategically important location)

I have it at 7000 miles from Inner Mongolia to NY going west and 6700 going east. So roughly 11000 km. Equidistant, maybe a bit longer.

Probably were necessary to strike against S-300. The Russians also used stealthy cruise missiles.

How is the development work for the JL-3 SLBM been going on?

Seems like JL-3 would be fitted abroad the upcoming Type 096 SSBNs.

Once the JL-3 is ready for service, will the Type 094 SSBNs receive them too? Or their size limits would only permit the usage of JL-2?

Considering that JL-3 is a MASSIVE upgrade of China's sea-based nuclear triad.
