True.

Also from what little I've been able to gather, it really seems like morale is low in the US military especially the Navy (long deployments, depression and suicides etc.). And the average sailor seems quite scared of any conflict with China (and the higherups also being incredibly alarmed and basically scary of chinese missiles such as the DF-21)
Not sure all the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE) training is helping morale much either. Perhaps a bit more focus on navigation and fire safety rather than virtue signalling about transsexual rights might help.

They are right to be scared. For a sailor its not a good feeling to be possibly killed from someone 4000 km away with his feet under a desk and with a cup of coffee in his hands essentialy not risking anything bad.

Turnabout is fair play, no? They've been killing people 12,000 km while sitting in an airconditioned container in Nevada. I guess that's just... modern warfare.

Definitely will be justice coming from a long way. USN being of the receiving end of some PLA Rocket Force grunt pushing a button in a bunker somewhere.

That said, this seems to be a cheaper way of training than the moving target ship tests they have done back in Summer 2020 when the tensions were high as well. These simulated land targets, some of them even mobile, are perfect for the evaluation excercises for new RF brigades. I dont expect them to be hit, tho, but rather that the missiles are aimed to score a near-hit, which will be even more impressive considering the speeds of reentry.

Wasn't Adm. Harry Harris super gungho about war with China when he was the CO of USINDOPACOM? One'd have thought the USN should be quite eager beaver about this...
