Re: DF-41 Missile\

If that pic was photoshopped, then this one must be as well. OR, they could be genuine pics of a new TEL for DF-31A or the TEL for DF-41. I'm thinking the two pics are very well within the realms of possibility. It's not too crazy for China to be testing a new TEL, and these two pics of TEL's are very very similar.

Yeah i too remembered the resemblance with that truck. If the latest picture is not photoshoped, then it appears to be a fully fitted version of that truck in the 2007 photo. The canister is different from DF-31/DF-31A (since we now know that both use the same TEL). It is lengthier (about 22% longer), and have rings around it. does that mean that it is DF-41? no, but then, what it is for?

Does anyone knows if there are more picures of that truck as recent as this one?

Yeah I never meant that it WAS the DF-41. But it could be for all we know. The most likely option is DF-31A, but with the PLA, anything could be anything else.

Whats the source of that picture? I wonder if it is photoshoped...i mean what is it doing there? it seems to be a racing track...

That's effectively what it is, a racing track. They are for driving manouvre exercises, you can see them on google earth, I think SOC has a few on his site, but I'll have to double-check.

Try to check this out.. There is an article discussing the DF-41...

But how accurate was this?

Well, considering that most of the info on that wiki page is based on years old speculation (except janes, but they dont really say anything new), i dont think it has much credibility.

@kroko:
You appear to have very stringent requirements regarding ´credibility´:D,...probably an hour long personal PowerPoint briefing by General Jing Zhiyuan (靖志远) (Commander of Second Artillery) could actually meet your high expectations. Unfortunately the General is a very busy man with a tight schedule and you will certainly have to apply early for an appointment. :cool:

Most wiki pages on upcoming PLA weapons lack some credibility. (The DH-10 page says it has a range of 4000Km!)

But it's still good to take some of that info with a pinch of salt, especially after we heard CCTV and Xinhua mentioning the DF-41; which means it's probably not a redundant subject as we all thought.
OR the DF-41 could have already been made redundant, and they're just mentioning it to get the Pentagon (and admittedly us) debating and confused over it's existence.

What did Xinhua says about the DF-41? Does it exists? I hope you would share some light regarding on what did the report says..
