It's actually Washington Beacon and you can probably say the same thing but I have to say Gertz has gotten a couple things correct lately. I think he probably has someone in the Pentagon passing information to him.

That is given since someone leaked him that uncensored 1996 NASIC report about DF-31 back in late 1990's.

Not sure of the credibility but some stories I've been reading which may have quoted the SCMP says the DF-31B can carry more than three warheads and has a 10,000 km range. Not sure if that means it can carry more than three warheads at a 10,000 km range.

I thought DF-31A could carry 3 warheads at 12,000 km range ..... DF-31B should be more modern/capable

I guess it depends on what payload it has. Russians claim that RS-24 has a range of 12.000 km with "several warheads", but no one has said if that's 2-4 warheads without penaids or two warheads and penaids, etc. DF-31A has already 11,200 km range with one warheads + penaids.

Could it be that DF-31B is the rumored DF-41 missile?

is it just me or is there a missile still sitting on the TEL? or is that a skin that the missile shed when it is erect? PS?

DF-16 is a hot launch missile and what you see in that TEL is a protective "shell".

Today (16/10) is a special date. Exactly 50 years ago China detonated her first atomic bomb.

I'd like to dedicate my gratitude to the scientists, technicians, workers, and countless other people who have contributed to the program here.

It was 596, originally named by western intelligence agencies Chic-1,[1] is the codename of the People's Republic of China's first nuclear weapons test, detonated on October 16, 1964 at the Lop Nur test site. It was a uranium-235 implosion fission device and had a yield of 22 kilotons. With the test, China became the fifth nuclear power

Back then (1964) China was a very backward country, its GDP was only 145B Yuan and now in 2014, China is very strong both economically and military and its GDP is over 60T Yuan or over 413 times bigger than in 1964
