It seems China signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with unclear security guarantees. Does Ukraine truly believe China would use its nuclear weapons to protect them against the most likely nuclear invader, Russia? Also, why didn't Russia strangled that baby in the crib? Is China's move retaliation for Moscow selling Kilo subs to Vietnam?

Who's next in line for the Sino nuclear umbrella? Saudis? Sri Lankans?

It has nothing to do with Moscow selling Kilos to Vietnam. Vietnam could turn to other powers. There is no way to stop Vietnam from acquiring subs to counter China. China is also supplying weapons to both Thailand and Cambodia. The agreement with Ukraine should not be seen as a posture against Russia since the new Ukrainian government and Russia are on a sound footing.

That's nonsense. Why would China give that kind of guarantee with such an unstable country that could easily turn on China? A nuclear umbrella goes along with a military alliance which there is none. It's called the Washington Times and the Diplomat lying to most likely get China and Russia to go at each other.

It is conceivable that China could further international nonproliferation goals by extending a “nuclear umbrella” in the same fashion in which the U.S. extends nuclear security assurances to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

The original author was misled or was trying to mislead: the US did not and does not extend nuclear guarantee to Taiwan.

As part of the agreement to disarm the Ukrainian nuclear weapons (soviet leftovers) in 1994, all five legit nuclear powers agreed to provide unilateral nuclear assurances to Ukraine. A similar assurance was later provided to Kazakhstan.

I'm surprised that so many are not aware of this simple fact. It's pretty much common sense for anyone remotely interested in nuclear arm control.

Interesting. How many axis does this truck have? if it is 8, then this is certainly a ICBM carrier. And why the tarp covering the cannister?

Probably because they don't want to show us the canister.

Anyway we've seen previous incarnations of this TEL before. This is merely confirming that the project (whatever it is) is indeed still ongoing or active.
