Oh yeah, I love the Star War like look on that British Rapier missile defence system.

---------- Post added at 12:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:27 PM ----------

there are reports of the MoD putting Surface to air missiles on the roofs of some residential flats in London!!!~?? bit over the top and doesn't really send out a very good message, but i do wonder, does the house insurance premium go down if u tell ur insurance company that u have a SAM on ur roof top :p

Good question, better yet, does the insurance company will cover for the cost of damage if it were to be use? The back blast can cause fire or roof damages. Could you imagine the company rep of the insurance company saying: "sorry our policy did not state anything about covering for damages done by air defense missiles or the like.";)

[h=2]Exercise Scottish Lion readies 45 Commando for front line[/h]
More than 750 Royal Marines and supporting units, together with three warships and Sea King and Chinook helicopters, have waged war in and around Galloway Forest Park in a week-long exercise to prepare 45 Commando for front line duties.

The Arbroath-based Royal Marines are now the nation's 'Lead Commando Group', ready to deploy around the globe if required, having successfully completed Exercise Scottish Lion.

Fresh from taking part in one of the biggest war games exercises in Europe this year, Joint Warrior, 45 Commando were thrust immediately into Scottish Lion, which saw the entire unit - more than 750 troops - put ashore south of Stranraer.

Scottish Lion covered ground from the ranges of West Freugh in the west to the ruins of 16th century Edingham Castle, near Dalbeattie, more than 40 miles (64km) to the east.

Always glad to have our UK allies with us in any situation. Sort of like the Aussies and the Canadians and a few others.

Seem to always be at least some of them there when the going is tough and we need someone to stand with us shoulder to shoulder.
