[h=2]16 Air Assault Brigade take part in Exercise Joint Warrior[/h]

Sixteen hundred soldiers from 16 Air Assault Brigade are training to maintain their role as the British Army’s Rapid Reaction Force.

Exercise Joint Warrior involves a total of 8,000 tri-Service and multinational personnel in exercises around the UK.

[h=2]Armed Police Tackle Hostage Situation In Central London[/h]

Armed police officers on the scene where a man threaten to blow himself up in an office building on Tottenham Court Road on April 27, 2012 in London, England.

The busy shopping street in central London has been evacuated after an unidentified 49-year-old man arrived in the offices of Advantage HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) "strapped up with gasoline cylinders, and threatened to blow up the office".

According to reports the man, who began to throw computers and other office equipment from the office window, failed a HGV training course and demanded his money back. The siege has recently ended following the arrest of the man.

[h=2]Operation SHAFUQ[/h]

Brigade Advisory Group Clear the Shark’s Fin this morning the men and women of the Brigade Advisory Group moved out of Patrol Base Pimon for the start of Operation SHAFUQ. Operation SHAFUQ (meaning dawn in Pashto/Dari) is the Afghan Army’s first major mission of this spring and the essential foundations in suppressing any insurgent attempt at mounting an offensive over the summer

BRIMSTONE 96 was the call over the radio this morning as a patrol of Afghan Army soldiers found 3 explosive devices on a road outside an abandoned compound. Calling their Afghan Army comrades they moved forward to remove the threat. The Afghan Army Explosive Hazard Reduction Teams are advised by a 2 man team from the Airborne Troop of 49 Squadron, 33 Regiment Royal Engineers. Staff Sergeant Steve Limbrick (32 from Gloucester) and Corporal Neal Griffiths (29 from Basildon) known by their radio call sign of Brimstone 96 are doing the vital work of training Afghan Army bomb disposal in the most dangerous training environment in the world.

pic 2 has a close up of the L85A2 with a duel citizenship in her Native UK and adoptive US.
She is wearing a American made A trijicon Acog and RMR although I am not sure what else is mounted on it it looks too be a laser sight. on the side of that optic combo, on the six o'oclock rail of that American made Rail system is a Made in the USA Grip pod and in the mag well is an American made Magpul EMAG
The next pic is another Yank in the Kings Court. The L129A1 Wearing American Furnishings in the Form of a ACOG 6X48 with RMR, a LMT sopmod stock, LMT rail system, Magpul PMAG and rail covers from tango down.

Good to know HMS Ocean is put in good use for Security during the Olympics. She is a fine ship, and I had the pleasure of attending the First Sea Lord's Cocktail Party on board in 2009.

there are reports of the MoD putting Surface to air missiles on the roofs of some residential flats in London!!!~?? bit over the top and doesn't really send out a very good message, but i do wonder, does the house insurance premium go down if u tell ur insurance company that u have a SAM on ur roof top
