This is likely orders of magnitude better than the iron dome.. I've never seen missiles turn around so fast

That's not saying much. It's not difficult to make better GBAD than Iron Dome—Israel has Arrow and David's Sling already—just more expensive.

David's Sling and Arrow series are higher altitude ABM and I believe Arrow is exoatmospheric.

Anyway neither of these are any different (in purpose and function) or better performing than the many ABM missile systems around the world.

If the video is showing some SAM system, it is the first time we see close to 180 degree turn performed by a missile, assuming the change in contrail direction is in the horizontal plane. I believe we're seeing a bit of that but it's probably also carrying a significant vertical component. Impressive and unprecedented nonetheless.

Arrow, DS, Iron Dome wishes it could pull even a 90 degree turn. Most SAMs would struggle with a 60 degree change in direction. The Gs involved would far exceed typical parameters. Missiles work on carrying out updated interception point calculations and perform the steering relatively gently. This is why we see the missiles either slow down significantly (from our viewing angle's perception) before the dramatic change in what we are assuming is the horizontal plane. In reality, they might be climbing suddenly to intercept something "behind" their current flight path trajectory but where most of the "change in direction" is in the vertical.

What would be the future direction of the PLAN? Will they work to match the USN's capability in power projection in the near future (circa 2035) especially with China being such a large exporting nation with interests and major investments pretty much all over the world. Though I feel like a big issue with this is China's lack of oversea bases however there seen to be plans to build a few more "joint" bases in some countries recently but haven't heard much news on them.

Cambodia's Ream Naval Base would be/should be a good start.
