A map of dependent territories and their sovereign states. Look at CX, Christmas Island currently administered by Australia, this seems like a nice place for China to build a foreign military base after kicking out the Aussies of course. Apparently the largest ethnic group there is already Chinese. The natural geography doesn't seem too good, but it's location seems pretty good able to guard the Sunda strait.

I'm thinking this land would be useful to China when the US has been kicked out of East Asia but they still control the straits of Malacca. Any thoughts on my fantasies, are there other territories on this map which would be even more valuable, excluding Northern Mariana Islands and Guam of course.
I don't think there's any scenario in a war where Malacca isn't well defended by China. It borders the Asian main landmass and Indonesia. Indonesia and Malaysia have fuck all air defenses and they're likely to be friendly to China anyways. You'd have around the clock ISR coverage and missiles used to snipe at suspicious ships, ASW over flight etc. Maybe some destroyer flottila physical presence.

Malacca is also crucial to prevent EU attacks on China. If they want to get to Asia in a timely manner, they must go through Malacca or Sunda. Otherwise, they have to go to US and then circumnavigate.

Only if India joins, the Indian ocean side of Malacca will be at risk of surface based fires and could be too hot to use. But in that case, China would rely on an Indus plateau plan using missiles fired down at India from Tibet instead, which would distract India once hits on infrastructure start ramping up.

India is also militarizing the Andaman and Nicobar islands, transiting through the Sunda strait can also avoid this. I'm assuming India is on the west's side.

Do you have any more info on china's stealth coating? Maybe from chinese source? visually they look more "glossy" compared to Americans counterparts, which is very matte looking.

You bet. They used to be anti-nuclear and anti-war. The article writer also seems to be Ukrainian.

The talk in the article about the strikes being limited to Kursk region is also bunk since they are attacking Bryansk and Krasnodar with Storm Shadow missiles which also require US permission to use apparently.

They also fail to realize that for Russia, Crimea is also part of Russia. And they have been attacking it for a long time. They try to pass this as some sort of new "Russian red line" they are crossing but this is false.

Stephen Chen is not a credible source. He has a long history of taking scientific papers very far out of context.
