Taylor swift might just save the U.S economy from recession, lol. Forbes estimating her total economic impact for her The Eras Tour is around $4.6 billion for local economies, with average ticket holder spending $1,300 on local hotels, restaurants, merc sales, etc..

Barbies movie is close to grossing $1 billon. Talk about soft power.

$4.6 billion is peanut compare with the US economy. US government distribuetd trillions dollars of handouts and trillions more in monetary easing during the pandemic. Not sure if you were joking but it doesn't even make any sense.

Barbie did so badly in China that the movie is unlikely to cross $40 even with all those ads, feminism outcry, Chinese liberals support and Western propaganda. Barbies also tanked in South Korea with only 8% of box office. It did well in UK, Australia, Mexico and Brazil which are expected. Hollywood has soft power and reach in many countries but Barbie's soft power is limited to certain countries.

Barbie even had Liu Simu in it as a Ken and it still failed lmao. I can just hear the Hollywood executives gritting their teeth for putting an Asian man as a Ken and the movie tanking in China anyways.

Is the person you're replying to suggesting that Taylor Swift will single-handedly grow the U.S. economy?

Apparently he is, though to be fair, it looks like it was a joke.

Hollywood was blaming CPC for banning their movies. I still remember how many Chinese liberals claimed Spider man would be all time record if it were allowed to be shown in China. After that, they claimed Avatar would beat all Chinese movies and top all time box office if not releasing during the pandemic.

After lackluster performance of Ant man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fast X and flops of Super Mario, The Flash, Elemental, Black Panther, Indiana Jones, Barbie, Shazam, and Top Gun and disaster of Little Mermaid. It is clear that Hollywood got a serious problem in China. There is no denial that Hollywood's soft power has lost its magic in China.

I already assumed that he was joking. But the joke is not funny or resonated.
