There is nothing wrong with the Cats and Traps. It's just of question of do you invest a large amount of money upfront for the Nuclear reactors or spread it out for a long time for boilers and fuel.

I'm a big fan of cats and traps! My only objection is cost, and there are still people crawling out of the woodwork proclaiming 'The QECs should have been Nuclear Powered!' or 'They should be Cat and Trap!' or both. Fine. Stump up the cash because you've just doubled the cost, or halved the number of ships we can afford. I've said before, I'll take two STOVL Carriers over one Cat and Trap any day, because we'll always have one available, unlike the French Navy, who because of their choices, are effectively only a part time Carrier Navy.

In a military alliance it is not a problem if every state has only one carrier. The shipyard stays must be planned just as if the alliance is only one state, but with many carriers.

Yep, unfortunate, sad, backfire from the Trumpster's poor "people skills"? The "Art of the Deal",, not so much??? Mr. Trump doesn't seem to comprehend the people skills necessary to keep people on your team??

Ronald Reagon once stated the "You can accomplish anything you want, as long as you don't care who gets the credit", why Reagon was a stateman,, another Reagon quote the would have served Mr. Trump well is "NEVER criticize a fellow Republican"

So now we have a "train-wreck" with Ms. Merkel, Macron, Theresa May?

and I thought Obama was hard on our friends?? ( he talked nice but then stabbed em in the back?) come to think of it, that's Trump as well??

So apologies all around, "Brat for President"!

Anyway, good for France on turning around the Charles de Gaulle! nice to have her back in business, and I can't wait to see those F-35B's flying off the QE!

Europe is waiting for the time after Trump. And then it has to be decided whether the US is still a reliable partner.

But many other questions arise, the world is in transition.
