thought it's forgotten outside Boston, Mass.,,, well, after that little business over whether to drink "iced tea? or hot tea??? that was a bit of stretch, eh Obi Wan?? but, we're all over that now!
I and most of my countrymen look back on the whole 'Boston Tea Party/ War of Independence' these days as akin to a teenage member of the family wanting to strike out on their own. These things are often painful, but you have to let them go sometime. It didn't help that 'Grandad' (George III) was a bit loopy and those in charge of his affairs were a bunch of greedy grasping crooks... somethings never change. We are still family, the UK and USA under the skin, and I don't think that bond will ever change. We share too many values ingrained in our DNA to really drift apart. My only complaint about the American Revolution is that it should have happened in this country, not across the pond! They are no doubt very excited at Pax River,, almost all military's, on the surface at least? enjoy this kind of joint project, particularly when it is as "ground breaking" as this project will be....
we tend to "get on" very well with the Brit's, some other "friends" who may be nearly as important?? have a kind of "arrogant" or possibly resentful attitude,, those relationships are not nearly as much fun...
The British, as our main WWII ally against the "Axis Forces" have always been an equal partner, and appreciative of our very special relationship,,, well, after that little business over whether to drink "iced tea? or hot tea??? that was a bit of stretch, eh Obi Wan?? but, we're all over that now!

Pilot (to Paratrooper): " I don't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to jump out of a perfectly serviceable aeroplane mid flight!"
Paratrooper: "I've never seen a perfectly serviceable aeroplane..."
I get the affinity for submarines, they're just BIG planes once dived, they 'fly' through the water quite gracefully...

NORFOLK (NNS) -- Nearly 30 ships and 128 aircraft will return to the Hampton Roads area starting Saturday, Sept. 15, and will continue to return to homeport over the next several days.
Beginning today, aircraft will make their way back to Hampton Roads bases and surface ships will start to return Sunday, Sept. 16. The return plan for Norfolk-based aircraft will give priority to rotary wing assets to allow for additional land-based rotary wing Defense Support to Civilian Authorities (DSCA) support, if requested.
The decision to return naval assets to their homeport follows thorough inspections of port and airfield prior to opening for operations.
While most ships are making plans to return, USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) and USS Arlington (LPD 24) will remain underway prepared to provide DSCA, if requested through U.S. Northern Command.
Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command ordered all Navy ships and flyable aircraft in the Hampton Roads area to sortie ahead of Hurricane Florence, Sept. 10.
