Aircraft Carriers III

Big Liz sailed from Portsmouth earlier today to resume trials and training. This will include the first F-35B flight trials in home waters with aircraft from 207sqn, the Lightning Force OCU. 617sqn meanwhile is over the other side of the pond with five aircraft to take part in Red Flag at Nellis AFB:

Terrified that one of these could be for the chop under another ridiculous SDR.

Out of interest, do we know if the Japanese are going to add ramps so their carriers yet? I bet they would be really very interested if POW came up for sale.

PoW IS NOT FOR SALE!
The Japanese more than likely will be fitting ski jumps to the two Izumo class carriers, otherwise they'd be on a US Gator talking to the yanks about flat deck operations. Anyway, here's some shots of QE sailing from Pompey today:

A scurrilous rumour devoid of substance that refuses to die. The two ship's hull dimensions are completely identical. Neither is longer, wider or draws more water than her sister. This all started because QE was launched earlier in her build schedule than PoW, in order to clear the building dock at the earliest opportunity so that assembly work could then commence on PoW. As there was no rush to get PoW in the water she was launched a little further along in her build schedule and thus more equipment, fixtures and fittings were installed before she was floated out. As a result at launch PoW was 3000 tonnes heavier than QE was when floated out and ever since silly stories have persisted. They are the SAME SIZE!

Thank you for clarifying your position, which I hold as well, not a hater, but a believer in the Scriptures... and good science as well... pieces of the puzzle in the natural world..... anyway, we are off topic, back to these lovely vessels, amazing vessels, defying the odds to become powerful and practical warships which make the world a safer place!

Awesome, I can't wait for the reports from RED FLAG, these guys are going to have a blast, and learn more about their aircraft than they would in 10 years of flying the "line"!
