Obi Wan.. did the Brazilians take delivery of the ship yet?
Not yet, but it's expected to be a matter of weeks. This was intended to be a 'hot' transfer, i.e. the new owner's take over the ship in running condition but a small overhaul to make necessary alterations (removal of the three Phalanx mounts, we're a bit short of those at the moment, buy your own!) and some of the comms gear (they appear to be leaving the Artisan type 997 radar in place, possibly to promote sales to the rest of the Brazilian fleet?). We'll have to wait for the transfer to complete before we see what work has been done, and it shouldn't take too long. I found it interesting they gave her the pennant number 'A140'. 'A' being the Brazilian prefix for Aircraft Carrier, but the number is a long way out of sequence, the previous two ships being 'A11' and 'A12'. I expected them to skip 'A13', most navies do, but the seem to have overshot a bit. Perhaps a clerical error and the zero will be painted out later...
Another perspective of the Mounts Bay Anchorage! (St Michael’s Mount on the left of the QE): HMS Queen Elizabeth anchored in Mounts Bay, Cornwall near Penzance on 13 June 2018 while preparations are made for her imminent additional high speed trials and then further helicopter SHOL trials. 2 RAF Chinook HC Mk6s are on deck - both with rotors running. Her hull has been inspected by underwater diving teams to ensure she is clear of growth or any unknown damage prior to her trials after being alongside for over 2 months. She departed Mounts Bay on 14 June for high speed trials in the SW approaches.
