Contrary to Italy, France could deliver both the carrier and aircraft :) (Rafale-M I mean)
Yes France could...but that train has already left the station as far as the aircraft are concerned.

It's pretty clear, IMHO, that Brazil has settled on the Grippen and will end up with Sea Grippens for future carrier use. Which themselves are very good aircraft.

Has the Sea Grippen ever been tested as far as arrested landings?..Never seen a photo or video of said event.

I don't think they even have any prototypes yet.

So Brazil that has an operational carrier still shooting Scooters aka A-4s off the pointy end does not want a proven platform like the Hornet? Bad decision in my opinion. It will be 7-10 years before anyone sees a Sea Grippen.

Plenty of these bad boys in production...

PACIFIC OCEAN (March 31, 2014) An F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the Kestrels of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 137 launches from the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). This marked Ronald Reagan's 76,000th aircraft launch since the ship's commissioning in 2003. Ronald Reagan is underway conducting tailored ship's training availability. I think F-18 Hornet is just too big, too advance, used too much fuel for the Brazilian navy to handle as of right now. I think they are sticking to the A-4 (nothing wrong with it I still love them from my Topgun movie) for awhile until their crew and pilot are trained for the F-18.

French Navy had considered the purchase of Hornet for replace the Crusader, finaly the Rafale "Marine" was purchased.

I think Super Hornet is too heavy.

CV Sao Paulo use catapult ( BS 5 ) of only 50 m* for aircraft about 15 T max, CDG 75 m/ 25 T ( C-13-3 ) and US 94,5 m/30+T ( C 13 mod 1 ).

*Flottes de Combat.

It is estimated that France spent £198 million on the development studies on the second carrier which was scrapped a waste of a lot of money they could buy half a FFG for that price

Correct.. I should have checked.. even a "C" model Hornet is to heavy for Sao Paulo.
