Never going to happen zero chance of that happening, IK will never have the backing of the establishment again.

IK don't need establishment support, he's enjoying overwhelming support of local population all recent polls shows that...

And those praying for civil war, (which will happen if there is a revolt within) will be sorely disappointed, as the chain of command will remain intact.

Yes because all are benefitting from .... ;)

Additionally, remain on topic; we are talking about the establishment's role in Pakistan's mess; avoid turning this into a political discussion.

This is the problem right here. You admit that leaders are chosen with the blessing of the military i.e. establishment. That in itself is a major problem.

This is about one thing and one thing only. Removing a bunch of generals from political decision-making. Everyone unanimously agrees that military should never interfere in political process. Even our Chinese friends agree. Somehow the Pakistani establishment is out of touch with reality.

Imran Khan isn't going anywhere. Unless he is killed. If elections were held today, PTI would win the overwhelming majority.
And the establishment would not permit that to occur. They went through a similar situation in the 1970s when they refused to recognize the election results which led to Bangladesh.

Both of you are naive, Khan will dissappear one way or another, not by his death more like by irrelevance, he had his chance and decided to declare war on his benefactors.

And all countries have their deep states, if you don't believe it, look st Trump the deep state in the US is going to great lengths to destroy his political and personal life.

The Pak establishment is here to stay, khan is like a fart in the wind.

Eventually this will lead to some sort of rebellion or conflict. It cannot go on like this.

You have to be naive to believe that Imran Khan will disappear. He is the most popular figure in Pakistan today. Much more popular and beloved than the Pakistani army. That won't change anytime soon. If anything, putting Imran Khan in prison has only made him more popular. If anything were to happen to Imran Khan it isn't very hard to predict what happens next.

Pakistan is not the US. The Pakistani deep state is limited. You cannot interfere in political matters. No deep state in the world crafts policies for the state. It is the state that always crafts policies. There is a reason why Pakistani army is often called out for having a country. Often it is other way round. Countries have armies.

The Pakistani deep state has been exposed badly. It has been accused of duplicity externally. Today the deep state is also being accused of political engineering domestically. Doesn't look pretty. You need to wake up and smell the coffee before it is too late. Your enemies have progressed way beyond. You are still fiddling around and wasting time. All you need to do is look at the pathetic state of Pakistan.

You sound like a naive teenager, of course IK is just a person, and an institution like the PA can last forever because people grow old and die l and institutions can live for hundreds of years.

The only way the establishment political role can be taken away is gradually like Erdogan did, over many years of economic growth, and slow political reform.

And all countries have deep states, IK could have never come to power without their help, he lost their support and due to his actions will probably never receive it again, unless he changes his ways.

I wish China could do more to engineer elite capture like US could. There were already scholarship program for bright African people, but we need more. There also needs to be ways for show China is safe to store their wealth. Recent confistication of Russian wealth is a good ads.

I agree, our alliance is key for the region, and is underpinned by the people of every province and social, ethnic class.
