The same writer that rolled out the same USAGM talking points (HK, Xinjiang, Tibet, Peng Shuhai) on her Gu write up. Trying to make up for it?
NOPE!! This article was written a year prior. In the west typified by America, there's a hierarchy in everything even in discrimination. Korean-Americans are good Asians but if you're a Chinese-America you can't say anything positive about the mainland let alone represent the country because it means you're going to be held accountable for everything that's China has been alleged to have done wrong and then some. Which goes to show that despite all these feel good b.s. yakking about human rights, free speech, and all the b.s. are nothing but empty posturing when at the end of the day, what's required, no demanded is total subservient to the American ideals of supremacy.

Yeah I think they have a case. Initially I thought Su' s score was not above 90 cuz his Japanese coach explained to Chinese media that Su rails section in the beginning had an error.

This was despite most commentators saying he should score high. Even the Aussie commentators who were not fans of Su at all( they predicted gold medal going to other top contenders in the beginning of the final, even though Su was 1st in qualifying) thought he should score high after that 1800. I definitely recall one of them saying if the judges didn't give Su like a 95 score, he would leave right now. When the score came out, they were totally silent. Like they could not believe it.

Now it's seems like not only Su might be underscored, but the gold medallist might be overscored.

I thought it looked really cool.

one of the coolest things in China's urban development is turning old industrial parks into various city parks. I thought it was one of really awesome developments. I can't wait to visit some of them.
The idea of redevelopment is great. But it gives people the wrong impression that China is full of these polluting chimneys. This Olympics is supposed to be clean energy based. The bashers will use any chance to mislead the world.

thanks. I didn't know all that.

But to me this is much simpler. She is a 19-year-old Chinese girl. NO ONE in today's world can bully a 19-year-old Chinese girl. that's all there is.

If someone has problem with the selection process, they should take it up with the CCP. They are the ones making the call.

I hate people who are nobody in real life but acts like they are the justice or someone who should run the world. They should f*cking grow a pair and talk tough to people their size.

Anyone bully a teenage girl online deserves to be put in a real concentration camp. And I will go back to China and be their warden.
From another perspective, I guess they think they are trying to uphold justice for the other girl whom they believe was unfairly treated but obviously they did it in a bad way by being mean spirited to the girl and her dad.

Having said that. I read many of the negative comments. Yes they are mean but no where near wat Western media exaggerated them to be. Certainly not at liu xiang level anyway. And definitely not near the level of vileness and racist crap in online abuse towards asian/black athletes we see in west.

Most comments are sarcastic ones like, oh great she fell again... I dun know if I should cry or she should cry.... Her dad must be happy nevertheless etc.

Yes mean spirited but outright abuse? Is it worse than that suffered by Chloe Kim? I'm not sure. I'm not trying to be apologist for them though. It's not good to see those stuff for sure.

I get your point.

But for our own objective consumption, the natural rusting of heavy industry plants can be awe inspiring.

I have been to the really famous "Gas work park" in Seattle. I thought it was really amazing.

They earned a bad name for all East Asians by doing stuff like this. Several newspapers in the West called out all of East Asia as uncivilized and barbaric.
OT, but it’s for precisely this reason I couldn’t respect Western Approved Koreans or Japanese. When they fuck up, they always stress they are Asian to spread the blame. But when faced with racism, it’s always, ‘but I’m Korean/Japanese’.

Like I said, it's not Zhu Yi who decides which athlete to send.

This is the only decent thing to say now because Zhu Yi is the one need support now: "加油,don't give up. We love you nonetheless. and we feel your pain. keep going. you will be great next time."

China's Olympic roster was announced, I don't know, quite a while ago. If people have issues, that's the time to complain!!! They can't be like if Zhu Yi win, Yeah! a hero. and if she didn't, she doesn't deserve to be on the team.

A society can't have its soul while only love winners and bash those that failed.

Lol it's a defunct steel mill, hyperboloid cooling tower is a common feature when you need industrial scale cooling, such as nuclear power plant, conventional power plant, oil refinery and... steel mills

In the US if not the entire western world those towers are synonymous with nuclear power. 95% of the American public would see those towers and immediately assume it's a nuclear power plant.
