Well, since the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was so successful, it would unavoidably trigger some meltdowns in the US:

I didn't know Bill Maher is such a hypocrite. I will not watch his sh*t-hole talk show again.
Hasnt he spoken out against China on covid and Xinjiang before?

Anyway as predicted the copium is coming out fast.

I see a shift in the western newspapers reporting on Eileen Gu. At the beginning it was direct attacks on her citizenship, loyalty and character. Now it's more like, advising her she needs to tread carefully in a politically charged minefield.

My mind is thinking, wat!? There was no controversy at first. Chinese reports on her were positive and encouraging. It's all the creation of the Western media. It's basically like they set up the minefield and put her there in the middle of it. But now they are telling her, beware and tread careful when she try to get out of it. Wtf

Canada sent a delegation of 200 athletes, including kids from the small town I live in, plus all the coaches and support staff.

Now they're gonna come back and read these kinds of headlines. As will their families and friends, who no doubt have heard about an entirely different experience.

Wonder what all those people will think about their supposed free media?

They'll be cowed to shut up and anglo peer pressured to repeat the 2 minute China hate when asked.

This. However normally such things reach too few people to make much wave. However with the rise of social media a lot of people have been watching members of the US team on Tiktok having fun, enjoying the robot serverd food and playing with the fancy beds, the seed of doubt would have been planted in some of them.

That's why traditional media was so salty over the whole thing and keep saying Bing Dwen Dwen is a Chinese Trojan horse and whatnot - they no longer have a monopoly on the narrative.

Like I said recently, China can never win a PR war on the enemies own platform, the same NYT who was hoping for Beijing Olympic disaster turns around to tell Twitter to censor pro-China voices... Freedom of Press /Speech had a singular purpose, it was to propel US hegemony, and it was only ever thus...

Exactly, China needs to break the Western monopoly on global social media. Tiktok was a good first step, but too spineless to make any real changes. Can't rely on any of the current giants like Tencent as they only know how to compete in the Chinese market. We need a new player to disrupt the current scene.
