As a person who was born in China and grow up in both Hong Kong and the US, I can say for sure that majority of second and third generation Chinese in the West would end up hating China or hating themselves.

Not my kids, that's for sure.

I don't think so. I think 2nd generation and 3rd generation Chinese in the west are becoming more and more pro-China.

I don't know about 2nd and 3rd generation Chinese, but the circle of 1st gen Mainland parents I currently live in seems pretty supportive of China.

Who knows, it might change over the years, but my personal feeling is optimistic.

Many first generation mainland Chinese that I know of who converted to Christianity have become anti-China after a few years. Good people but their view changed.

Even the native kids are becoming more socialist. The narrative in gen z circles isn't "Oh China's committing genocide", its "Oh the CIA is claiming China's committing genocide to make Communism look bad."

Thats a huge improvement.
Not the youngsters that I encounter. Many seems to have been pretty negative about China. A few times I have to lecture them about Tibet and Tibet history. I am talking about mainland not Hong Kong or Taiwan descendants.

@Bellum_Romanum bro parents of Gywneth Chua the spreader of Omicron here from what I heard are devout Christian, typical Hypocrites, the value they espouse is to benefit themselves. These kind of misguided people are the confused generation of my era, the Banana's hehehe. There is a 80's to 90's show called "Going Banana's" a satire TV series about us Filipinos and you can ask your relative bro and maybe your mom or aunts knows it. ;)

Most, if not all, kids start learning about their root, China in this case, from their own parents. So what you have seen in these kids tells what their parents are. It's not coincidental that you have also observed many such first-gen immigrants.

I apology if what I say next is offensive to you. I cannot help myself thinking of the story

It isn't my kids or my relatives' kids so there is no offense. I would say many working class mainland parents are too busy working to really lecture their children. I have been to the US schools so I know more often it comes from the teachers and schools not the parents. Not saying some Chinese parents aren't responsible. But most mainland parents won't talk about Tibet or Hong Kong.
