The reporter says "the mascot" not "a mascot" so he wished Bing Dwen Dwen specifically was ranked last. If he wants to look at a bad example of a mascot that should've been last place, look no further than the British one during their summer Olympics I've read was seen as the worst. If that one was best one they had, what was the worst?
Relax, man!
That’s not what he’s saying.
You won’t find anyone that hates Minor Britain more than I do.
But, trust me, I don’t need to go lookin’ for any more reasons, big or small, major or petty!

Su Yiming trained with the U.S. system? I thought his coach was Japanese, trained in Canada.
If you have ever ever skied on the slop of "freedom", your medal is mine. If you have ever used a screw made in the "free world", whatever you make is mine. There is no others in the universe but ME, ME and ME. I love ME and you must admire ME and be a ME. And so on and so on.

Yes I can see it that way reading over the article again but his article is basically hating on Bing Dwen Dwen because only the Chinese made it popular. It's a petty article in the first place.
I’m not Chinese and I’m obsessed with Bing Dwen Dwen!
In fact, I’m willing to kill for one!
Unfortunately, for me, I’m in Britain, and there are no medalists, here!

Sato recalled the scene when the 14-year-old came up to him with the snowboard in his arms and said, "I'm counting on you!" At that time, Sato thought this kid skated well, but a bit late at the age of 14. Unexpectedly, in less than four years, the master and his apprentice worked together to make history.
