Watching the ladies figure skating.. So, what is the point of the other nations competing....
The Russians are just way too good.... Trusova landed 5 quads and she isn't even the top Russian....
Jin Bo Yi needs to marry one of them so we can give them Chinese citizenship.... lol....

Speed skating has a very strong Asian showing.

Agreed. Alpine skiing is very European dominated. But I think there are good opportunities for China athletes.

The only problem is the FIS Ski World Cup pretty much takes place only in Europe. That's why even North American athletes are left out and therefore don't do well in alpine skiing.
The Dutch are a force of nature in speed skating.

They will all retire before the next Olympics, just like Zagitova, Medvedeva, and others. Tutberidze's training program only works for teenage girls and they even try to stunt growth as much as possible to delay maturing but you cannot do that indefinitely, hence they only remain on top for one Olympic cycle at best but then fall down extremely quickly, often unable to even qualify for events. The reason is that their jumping technique is different from the conventional one and becomes a huge hindrance after their bodies mature, while other basics (like skating) are honestly not that impressive. You can notice that all high-level mature Russian figure skaters like Tuktamysheva come from different coaches with more conventional training but they are not as "above the competition" as the Tutberidze's.

Yeah I know. The Japanese skater's skating was a much better on the eyes. (Russians were better on the eyes figure wise).
They do need to reform the scoring system though, the jumpers have way too much advantage.

Americans may have political view but that doesn't stop them from doing whats best for them... watching some x-game events on the Olympics and ordering made in china goods.

Predictably, the vendor is from a town in Zhejiang that I haven’t even heard of. They are very shrewd business people because they also make this.

I dont see anything wrong here, China does have a significant Korean minority, so its only normal that they are represented in the ceremony. Again this is a brazen attempt by Western propaganda media to make a huge stink about something that is a nonissue.

There is totally nothing wrong for China to showcase their own Korean minorities. South Koreans should be grateful that China respects and celebrates their own Chinese Korean culture. But if the opposite was true, these same idiots would be bashing China for cultural genocide.

There was already a sizable Korean diaspora in China long before the establishment of the Republic Of Korea. How are the Korean Chinese less 'Korean' than South Koreans? This is HK democrazy level of bigotry and racism. And the racists in the West are happily exploiting this.

Wat kind of jumping technique do they use that is different? As a layman to figure skating I can't tell the difference.

But from the body shape, the bronze winner from japan seem to have more powerful legs, abit chunky even. The Russian skaters are more lithe, legs are skinny in comparison. But they do more difficult jumps? It seems like they are in their own league.
