I thought one had to meet a qualifying standard to compete at the games . If it wasnt then there should have been more Chinese competitors in some of those ski events when there is only one competeing for the final 12. The event where the mens big sky event has only one compared to the Japanese three.LOL I was watching this race and didn't realize he was dead last. The comments on the cctv app mentioned he was basically just there for a holiday lol. The last guy to come out to ski was from Jamaica. I thought this guy most likely would finish dead last. Imagine getting beaten by an alpine skiier from Jamaica.
Recently there was a minor huff about the Team China goalie "not being allowed to speak English" in a press conference.
Now of course this is being spun by the media as some sort of weird censorship thing, but the total lack of context would indicate something lost in translation... After all, Eileen Gu speaks all the English she wants.
Here's an interesting profile on her
Apparently she went to Princeton and worked on Wall Street before going to a Women's KHL club.
Gu will be educated in the US, her future mentors from Stanford will be Americans. Her future husband will likely be American white. But she said it best: she’s 100% American while in America. And she can be 100% Chinese when she’s in China. But her thought process and who she is deep down is more ABC than Chinese. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Why would China be angry, when the doping issue takes away some negative coverage from diplomatic boycott and Eileen Gu?I saw anti-China USA Today sports journalist Christine Brennan being interviewed over the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva doping scandal saying that Chinese must be really angry at the Russians for ruining it for them with an unclean Olympics. Never mind that this same reporter accuses the Chinese of doping too.

They are still trying to rip China and Russia apart like they did in the cold war.I saw anti-China USA Today sports journalist Christine Brennan being interviewed over the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva doping scandal saying that Chinese must be really angry at the Russians for ruining it for them with an unclean Olympics. But Eileen is different. White muricans thought of her as 'theirs'. She proved she wasn't. That's why they're raging. It is like how an abusive husband scream at his wife to get the fuck out, leave me alone, stop nagging me all the time, but when she actually leaves he turns violent. It's not that the abuser actually wants his wife to leave, it's that he wants to control her. The same is true for Eileen. The abuse she gets is a form of control.
