And props to Chen Yufei. She is a beast swimmer. Yesterday she swam the 200 butterfly a notoriously tough race and then the 4x200m relay. Even got both golds. Today she swam the 50m heat and the MMR final. No doubt she is china's elite swimmer now.

Wu Qingfeng and Zhang Yufei are supposed to have a swim off between them for the 50m finals. Somehow Zhang Yufei decided to withdraw.

China silver in 100m medley mixed relay. I want to watch the replay, not sure who they assigned for breaststroke and freestyle. Xu definitely for back and chen for butterfly. Nice surprise I thought bronze is tough ask akready.

It was Zhang Yufei for butterfly, Yan Zibei for breast. and Yang Junxuan for freestyle.

Yeah gao lei made big error. He bounced out of bounds. Unfortunately I think trampoline is risky small error and you are out.

Lmao I just realized I still mistook her surname as Chen. I dun know why i switched hers with Chen aisen the diver. My bad.
Yes she withdrew cuz she is gonna race the MMR final to save energy. the swim off was also with another chinese swimmer so I guess the coaches think it's not worth it.

Thanks. Ok Makes sense as they are best choices. Zhang for butterfly and Xu for back are no brainers. Yan made the final for men 100m breast. However Yang is more of 200m specialist. But I guess she was the best option.

If they could get Haughey to compete for china, we might actually challenge for gold. Also breaststroke is still the weakness, especially against that freak Peaty, it's tough. It's frustrating as we never could get a breaststroke star in the men's . Luo xuejuan was the last breaststroke specialist, that was 10 years ago I think and she is female swimmer.

Yes she is the leading star for sure. Maybe not as dominant yet as peak Sun with a world record but she she swims multiple events, she has multiple medals 2 golds 2 silvers. Bona fide star.

I feel bad for always calling her Chen Yufei instead of the correct Zhang Yufei. So I am gonna big her up now lol.


After watching this, i have high hopes for her. Very good temperament, high EQ, smart, listens to coaching and hard worker. Sun is super talented and has ideal physque but his temperament is suspect and EQ is quite low.

The west hates a dominant chinese swimmer and after his dominance, he was targeted. Unfortunately they got ammunition to take him out. Hopefully Zhang can avoid that.

The last part when she talked about her parents, and started to tear up was so touching. Wish her the best. What a great girl
