I was watching the ping-pong match between Chen Meng (China) and Doo Hoi Kem (Hong Kong). It was a very high quality and close match. If this is not the Olympics, and just a regular tournament, I would not have felt what I felt just now. Everytime the Hong Kong player fist pump an intensely won point against Chen Meng, a surge of hatred for Hong Kong went through myself. I was wondering why would a fellow country man or woman be allowed to sabotage the motherland? I was picturing the situation where China and the US are neck in neck in the medals table, and in comes this Hong Kong player, fist pump and all, to tide the balance in the US favour. With the Americans gigling at the back.

I mean to be fair she can’t just deliberately lose the match just so china can progress. It's against the rules of fair competition and the spirit of Olympics. China actually has some history of deliberately rigging matches in badminton and table tennis of their athletes and it's severely frowned upon by chinese fans themselves,

Moreover HK table tennis team is coached by brother of Liu guoliang the head coach of mainland China table tennis team. I doubt there are any traitors there, unlike the badminton team.

Holy crap, the gymnastic final was completely rigged. Could not be more obvious

Xiao's gold was robbed
Yeah it so suspicious. Even during the team events there are questions asked of some low scores for team china.

This time it's more blatant. The Japanese gymnast took a huge step out of the lane and still got high score.

Sucks bad cuz this is second time Japan beat china to gold in a final of an event. Yesterday mixed table tennis and now this.

India along with Pakistan was considered to be very good at hockey, but that was a long time ago.
I think they are still not bad? Like top ten in ranking. And to be fair India have a medal contender in womans single badminton. Still fir second most populous nation it's poor showing in history of OG.

From Nury

"I heard that people in Ireland have been thinking about whether they can claim Siobhan for their country, but Siobhan pointed out that she is a Hong Konger and has never lived in Ireland (she went to St Paul's school here in this city) so legally cannot be seen as an Irish person"

Well said Nury, Irish can't have her! Here she is flying her Hong Kong flag proudly!

The roaches like Joey Siu congratulating her, what a joke. People complaining her fan she's holding says CHINA.
