HK winning medals is proof even the most nerdy study focused society can win medals. India has no excuse for 'no interest' or 'study-focus' bullshit excuse for not winning medals. India Supa Powah nation in Mental Gymnastics.

Good to see HK performing well at the Tokyo Olympics, but shouldn't it be time for HK athletes to compete under the Chinese banner?

Wang jianjiahe is like a female Sun yang?
I guess there is some similarity both make their names at young age in long distance events 1500m mainly. Both only in late teens when they reached the Olympics final. Sun I believe a year younger during Beijing and finished 8th. Wang slightly older during Tokyo but finished 4th.

But if you follow career of Sun, he specialised more into mid distance at latter stage, performing better in 200m and 400m. Whether Wang can achieve same dominace as Sun in long distance is unsure. She has ledecky in front of her. And whether she will eventually specialise to more glamourous shorter distance events like Sun and perform really well is also unsure.

They will bring up cricket. Without any doubt lol
Indians aren't even good at a cricket. They've won 2 world cups in their entire history compared to Australia's 5 (And Cricket isn't even Australias most popular sport). India is yet to dominate like Australians did in 2000s.
Ask them why they dont win medals they'll list out excuses like-
1. "Poor infrastrcuture"- Yet even countries like Syria, North Korea, Kosovo win more medals than them
2. "Sports not part of culture"- Then what is? Academics, Research? Even there India lags far behind.

Even their Tokyo Olympic Medal winner is from Manipur (North eastern State) aka Chinese genetics.

Objectively speaking Indians aren't good at any sport except maybe trolling .

Fantastic. Her farher is irish (hence the name) her mother is Chinese. She was born in Hong Kong. And she's the great niece of former Irish prime minister.

She is a fine example of what we were discussing a few days back. It doesn't matter who you are, as long as you are willing to compete for China (exclude mercenary).

Not a good idea because.. ...... dare I say it without upsetting our other esteemed member. Quotas! In this way we get more athletes.

They're not even good at that despite only Commonwealth countries remotely caring about it.
