The Russian Navy match others by sheer size and firepower; however they do not have any stealth warship, please correct me if wrong. In this case, their nuclear sub force is useful for most scenarios.

Russian Cruisers and destroyers of Russian Pacific Fleet are attached to the 36 Naval Surface Division but the main strength of this fleet are especially the submarines : 7 SSN, 8 SSC.

Wow makes me wonder why China sent such a larger naval task force! That's is a massive show of force, totally massive!!

You can clearly tell the Varyag looks very dated with zero stealth features in comparison with more modern ships like the 052 designs etc however I'll be lying if I say she doesn't look intimidating up close.
With her dark menacing gray and giant SSNs forward facing and old school wire antenna protruding all over the place she looks like she eats destroyers and frigates for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I like the following pic the best...it shows all six vessels.
As to the Russians not having any stealth vessels, that is not correct. They are building a couple of classes.
The first is their own version of the export Talwar class they are selling to India. Their version is the Admiral Gorshkov class. They displace 4,500 tons. They have launched two, a third is building and they plan up to 20 of them.
The second is the Soobrazitelny class, a improved follow on the Stereguschiy which entered service in 2008. They have two of those launched, a third building, and plan up to eight more. They are more an OPV or Corvette design, but are well armed and displace 2,000 tons.

The PLAN is getting more confident sending its modern warships. We will see more of this one, hopefully one day with CV-16
