If they ever were to make a move against Japan, I would expect it to most likely be in conjunction with China.

Then it may not seem so inplausible, if part of the Japanese strength, especially the majority of its AF and Navy gets drawn away south (?)

Russia may be far away to land army units, but not as far as Chinese would have to travel. So the plan may be

Airforce gets drawn south by Chinese air units.

Combined Russo-Chinese naval force to pin the JMSDF

Land operation by russians up north.

Why would they make a move against japan? they dont have motives for that. It would also drawn US into the fight. Thats something that they dont want to. IF anything, it is japan who might make a move againt russia, taking into account the huge disparity of conventional militar might betwen the two.

AFAIK chinese warplanes cant reach japanese main islands (except perhabs outdated H-6, easy prey for japanese air force). Chinese navy is weak against japanese navy, even in combination with russian navy.

I dont think what you propose is possible.

Whether they want to or not, they have to plan for all contingencies.

No.

Abe is on guard here. Subconsciously crossing hands in front of you is a protective, defensive gesture.

Putin's ability to line up a pencil on the desk shows you he has a very calm hand and mental state.

I dont think what you propose is possible.

J-11s and Su-30MKKs with inflight refueling have the means to range against the Japanese main islands along with the H-6, so that's not an impossibility, and the PLAN has all the necessary pieces at this point to face down against the Japanese, more time passing would simply serve to make that much more apparent.

Lol, I think it just shows that Putin was very bored with Abe's speed.

they get around the constitution by changing the terminology, like they say 22DDH is a helicopter destroyer, yet its clear its a light aircraft carrier

It is not . It has much smaller displacement then Kiev class or Wasp class (almost double) , relatively small crew and provisions to carry troops but not much place for F-35B in hangar or even on the deck if it carry helicopters . In fact , JMSDF officially or semiofficialy never mentioned possibility to use 22DDH as aircraft carrier .

which is why asif iqbal refer to it as light aircraft carrier rather than medium aircraft carrier. it's inline (and better) than CVLs such as Príncipe de Asturias of Spain, Giuseppe Garibaldi of Italy, and HMS Invincible of UK.

The Joint naval training, I don't think there is much to talk about anymore. The scale and scope of the exercise is unquestionably aimed at Japan. Which answers we will not back down to the
