It wasn't particularly surprising given JL-3 should be slightly larger in term of diameter. If 14 meters is for beam, then 096 should be slightly larger than 955 and Ohio as well.

'up to' 14m. ISTR the launching barge is rated up to 24kt? Ohio class beam is 13m, Borei is 13.5m, Seawolf 12m and Virginia 10m.

I think it is reasonable to expect 12-13+ meter-diameter submarine hull, with 14 meters being the upper limit.

In the meantime, I suppose it also depends on whether the 095 SSN and 096 SSBN shares the same basic hull diameter design.

type 094 itself is 135 meters lengthy with double hull configuration and 12.5 meters beam.

what we have seen in research papers and hull diameter on satellite image.. type 096 will be considerable bigger than type 094 to accommodate bigger SLBMs.. this is very much reasonable and down the line development process. from 092 to 094 now 096.

I was talking about 095, not a SLBM carrier. And it's not as if I'm projecting it to be 16 thousand, I've no idea what the displacement will be in reality. But IF a sub, any sub, is 14 m in diameter and is around 130 something meters long, then a submerged displacement of approximately 16 thousand tons is likely.

It seems likely that 096 will also be significantly longer than the 094, seeing that basically all comptempory SSBNs are around 150-170Ms long.

i am expecting the same length of type 096.. in between 150-170 meters.
