I think what everyone should gather from this, is that this farce will play out again and again in the coming years, just with different flavours of BS. Just think about the previous debunked claims made within the last 4-5 years. At this point I can't even recall some of them because there's just so many.

It goes like this:
Make shit up --> People eat it up --> Can't disprove it effectively because it didn't happen --> Rinse and repeat

I just hope they have an explanation if and when they actually lose to the authoritarian incompetents from across the pond…

Just like with H.I. Sutton, I think it's wrong to simply dismiss Shugart from now on. His reputation is definitely hit, but he has produced good work in the past, and will likely produce more good work in the future. I'll just be more scrutinous when browsing his Tweets and articles in the future.
Nah, everything he writes goes into the shitter from now on.

When a "respected writer" goes off the rails like that with baseless nonsense and no evidence, it's an obvious sign he sold out to become a US state department propagandist. Gotta get some of that $1.6 billion propaganda fund

The way that the big propaganda outlets like WSJ instantly pounced on the story at the same time is another obvious sign of a coordinated campaign.

The depth of the Yangtze River in that area cannot float an SSN. And if China could clean up a sunken SSN in under a day then USN have other things to worry about.
Didn’t they state that the dimensions are just slightly larger than Yuan class, ie longer by 5-7 meters? As reported by HI Sutton:

I don’t see any issue with floating a sub of that size.

@Stealthflanker I think it’s quite logical to assume that the area in question is dredged deeper than the navigable draft of the river. After all, that’s where the submarine will make its first test dive.

Then they are obfuscating the facts by saying that it is a “nuclear submarine”, which usually means a boomer sub in popular understandings. And replacing stirling motor with a nuclear reactor does not a boomer sub make.

Bros I have obtained some footage that shows a RQ-180 tipping over mid flight and crashing during the latest typhoon. My sources say that it's a common problem for these drones when operating in heavy wind, it's a sign of poor US quality control and design, and this accident will set back the US government plans in Asia.

In the end, this story is one that US state media (and its hangers-on) could dispel in an instant: show us the RQ-180. (preferably also with the schematics of the RQ-180 to prove that it's not vulnerable to doing a barrel roll from a gust of wind)

My impression from the outset was that they were talking about an SSN. But I started with a working assumption that it’s the same X plane sub previously identified as a SSK. I think that’s another argument in favor of moving the discussion out of this thread :)

I heard the same thing about NGAD and B21.

If US doesn't expose their schematics then it means they're hiding something
