Every time some country accuses China of something, something worse happens shortly after.

Remember they laughed about LHD Anhui being on fire even though there were almost no visible signs of damage within 1 day?

Remember how they were laughing about how a bridge in China "collapsed" (minor damage that was repaired in a few months) due to a ship hitting it?

This entire episode is exhausting and lacking in any foundation for anyone to grab onto.

No clear affirmative statements, no clear pictures, yet having a bunch of odd and eyebrow raising circumstantial claims with a big ticket suggestion all of which run counter to established knowledge and consensus.

This makes usual pedestrian PLA watching seem straightforward and crystal clear by comparison.

That said, I don't feel the need to psychoanalyze them too much. For our purposes, there's ultimately no need to be too irate at them. Extract what's useful, identify the rubbish, move on imo. And if it's seen elsewhere, then if one wants to correct the record, do so effectively and briskly.

I think part of the issue is that these people end up having influence on policy wether on purpose or not, which means their bad faith actions can have very real consequences.

Tom Shugart is doubling down.. Dunno, imo would be better to stop talking, he embarrasses himself

So China is going to dredge 1000 km of river EVERY YEAR from Wuhan to the Sea so their newly built expensive HUGE nuclear submarines navigate safely the 1000 Km distance instead of IDK "built the submarine in a drydock or whatever close to the sea"

These hazards form underwater every year, that is in the middle of the river where is suppose to be deeper, now imagine a nuclear submarine who weight 17,000 tons hitting one of those at 20-40 knots loaded with the 12 more precious weapons that a country can have.
