09III/09IV (093/094) Nuclear Submarine Thread

After the infamous water in ballistic missile, using rocket fuel for hot pot, nuclear sub sinking in Yellow Sea and/or Taiwan Strait, and no fire extinguisher or water proof doors on Chinese destroyers rumors being pushed by MSM and Western defense journos, remind us why we need to take their claims seriously? The burden of proof lies with them.
Don't forget the annual "Chinese aircraft carrier broken" articles we get and how a fire exercise on a LPD was reported as a hull loss. Also there was the Xi's so called Stalinist purge which had 5 guys fired. Just accept that the general public, an average military poster on Twitter, and an average journalist are ignorant and aren't interested in learning more. People get their perceptions about others from cultural memes and the media uses those perceptions to have its otherwise uninteresting output followed.

The SFA guys needs to get paid, hence the "anonymous officials". There are too many China strong news articles recently, China doesn't look like a near peer superpower. :p

Tom's images are inconclusive. At least to me it looks more like a crane's shadow than a sunken submarine

What's interesting is the US DoD's claim that they can confirm this and that they know that it's a new class of nuclear submarines. Either there was an information leak, or it's some propaganda at work.

Edit: Just read the article and yeah... very little information amidst all the usual propaganda exposition. They took the word of a "senior U.S. defense official" and ran with it

It's clearly and blatantly obviously the shadow of the red and white crane. The unidentified US "officials" probably got the story from Tom S's X posts and the subsequent TWZ article as well.

We're too focused on debunking the story and not on why this months old story is being resurrected right now. I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the USNS Big Horn grounding (if that's what it was)...

I thought it had more to do with the ballistic missile test…

This image is very strange. The position of the sun is verified by the shadows of the buildings in front and by the cranes, see that the shaded side of the buildings is in the opposite direction of the shadow of the cranes.
