If China can't defend its own coastline against encroaching subs, then it doesn't serve to win a nuclear war. BTW ECS's average depth is around 70-100m in the area that I marked, plenty enough for a nuclear sub to hide in, plus the traffic makes it harder to track in any case.

I highly doubt that Chine would "waste" one SSBN for just India ... India is already covered by "ancient" DF-3A .... which now probably already replaced by DF-21 or DF-25.
For Russia ... I highly doubt it either as Chinese IRBM or early ICBM are enough to cover Russia ... which is a lot cheaper than SSBN (operate and investment)
The only reason for China to have SSBN is the US and to have effective triad

I disagree. Russia can perform an first strike against Chinese land based missile forces, but they cannot do same for Chinese boomers.
In the current political climate they definitely wouldn't - but after the end of the cold war I would argue that most of the nuclear weapons (at least in the arsenals of Russia and the USA) are an insurance against future relations again taking a turn for the worst.
Relations between China and Russia have in the past been really bad and you could imagine them turning bad again.
Right now no, but remember China and Russia today are friendly simply because both country worked really hard at it, and also because of US's fail policy.
Both country do have a lot of grievances deep down, China have reversed all the unequal treaties from last Qing era... except the ones from Russia. So you never know, maybe 50, 100 years down the line things will change.

I don't think China will revised the border agreement with Russia It is done deal China has a good track record of keeping the agreement with their neighbor except India .
Beside unlike Tibet and Xinjiang the Russian far east was never officially belong to China there were never a Chinese appointed official in Russia far east.
Many tribe in Russia far east acknowledge Qing suzerainty but that is the extent of Qing involvement
As is now China dominate the economy of Russia far east Oil, Wood, Agri all flow eastward no need to occupied it
