Logically LHD offers more bang for the buck in terms of mission flexibility...

The only downside is that LHDs are often slower than dedicated anti-submarine carriers. Not sure how much that matters in ASW missions though.

It shouldn't matter. So long as the escort ships stay in formation the relative speed of LHD to other ships is not important.

Nice pics. The last one looks like it has a well deck there to the aft (right).

That first pic is well done and looks like a standard US Wasp type deck configuration.

I wonder what it will displace?

Interesting...are they supposedly already building one? or does anyone know?

The front page says "Does China want an Amphibious Assault Vessel/light aircraft carrier?"

So it would suggest it's about what they could build and possible missions etc....

Think those at the aft starboard are Z-8, think the artist used some older Z-8 models for this work.
