Apparently this could be the fist 075 LHD, said by pop3 (big shrimp):

Looks like it could be stern well deck. Wait and see as always, but if someone like pop3 is saying it and if there's nothing to rule out the possibility of it being 075 then it's worth taking seriously.

Disclaimer: it could possibly be for something else (such as a floating drydock), but if pop3 really did claim it is meant to be 075 then there is some reason to consider it may be 075... but at this point I have to say that thing does look a bit like a floating drydock.

I don't think these two things are connected: that pop3 said LHD/LHA will very likely start construction this year and the picture looks like an LHD/LHA. I don't think pop3 points to this picture and says this is it. Hongjian's statement is very vague and could create confusions.

Yes, I've considered that too, and it's very possible that something was misquoted entirely.

In either case I've been unable to track down an actual statement from pop3 in relation to this photo... so go figure.

LHA construction is due by end of 2016

The engine contract for 3 x 4 engines was settled in the summer

So not only carriers soon we will have LHA to follow

We hard the same last year, so I'll believe it when we hear 'official' confirmation from either the shipyard or from some relatively high-ranking CCP official.

Did the original rumor state that construction already has started or merely that it would start this year?

If by "construction" the OP meant steel cutting, then it won't be at least several years before we see distinguishable modules.
