My Friend,

China's LHD's will be named after mountains in China. 998, Kunlunshan or Kunlun Mountain is the first "mountain." The Second LHD will be the second "mountain."

998 is a LPD, which they apparently named after mountains, he was talking about LHD which none has been constructed.

That is consider slow.. The USA San Antonia class LPD chunk out 2-3 a year. Both LDP 20 and 21 commision in the same year.

They shall build 2-3 hull at the same time to up some projection power quickly.

All landing ships are named after mountains, according to PLAN naming law, thus you can expect when they finally build LHD it'll also name after mountains.
And being China, they've many mountains to pick names from...

Compared to most countries it is quite respectable. Just a few months ago it was a few modules now its distinctly a ship.
