Great photo...but it is not PLAN, it is one fo the ones being built for Greece.

But that is certainly what the PLAN has to look forward to and they are the largest and most capable military Air-cushioned craft in the world.

That is not for China it has he flag of the Hellenic Navy?? It's L-182

Only the first and last picture (why are the same) have the greece markings. the others dont have any markings. I dont think that they are the same boat. It could quite possibly be the PLAN boat.

Yes, you can see the one with the Greece markings are fully armed and sensored, while the other pics show a boat that has almost no external equipment mounted.

From what I heard the ones built for PLAN will be handed over with weapons and sensors removed and also China would prefer to install their own stuffs on these boats.

If nato takes over Iran's oil, maybe they will get a cut ? So you might see these toys as an investment.

From what I heard the ones built for PLAN will be handed over with weapons and sensors removed and also China would prefer to install their own stuffs on these boats.

Since these are supposed to be new builds for the PLAN, I don't think there is any need or issue with removing sensors and weapons, those will simply not be installed. It is likely that this would have been done at the request of the PLAN as opposed to any sort of restrictions since the weapons and sensors pretty much only consists of AK630s, associated targeting radar and other sundry short ranged radar and sensors, and would have been no mystery to China.

I would not be surprised if the Chinese just ordered the hulls with engines and the least amount of equipment needed to make them seaworthy and asked all other equipment and weapons spaces be left bare to make it easier for the Chinese to install their own stuff after the boards are delivered.

It will be interesting to see what the PLAN will equip them with, will they just slap on their '630 clones, or will they place something better in their place, like '730/1030s or FL3000 launchers or maybe both?

Considering the original Zubr armament I imagine Chinese produced AK 630 or type 730 and multi role rocket/decoy MLRS launcher will be on the cards. Zubr is really an interesting ship to fit weapons upon because it's big enough to fit a few good CIWS on but really it should never be deployed in a situation where such advanced ciws are necessary to be used in the first place, and I imagine most weapons would be for basic fire support, minimal AA (which AK 630 or type 730 can fill, although I think the latter's sensor positioning may mean AK 630 is a better choice), and breaching/clearing weapons which the multi role MLRS is good for.

Those launchers are probably not MLRS but decoy launchers like the ones we see on all the PLAN ships these days.

Basically these type of boat can be used in quite a number of different other scenario other than the DYT and Taiwan scenarios. At present moment the relationship with a couple of ASEAN nations are not that rosy. Letting these countries know that the CHinese do have the means to land massive number of troops in their land from the sea is a good deterrence. Also if large enough quantity of these boats are available with enough men to carry around, they can be a crediable threat to the Japanese mainland too...

The other possible usage was for China to attack further away lands (past first island chain) with replendishment ships support. And so could very good complement the 071 and 081 to carry and land massive amount of land assets to the further away but potentially hostile nations.

So in my opinion the Zubr is a great asset to have. And if China could field more of these, it would give her a great way of landing her troops to potentially hostile nations, even if the nations are pretty far away.
