Hmmm...so HP and HD already each have one in the water and another building...maybe two at HP. And one of the other sites already apparently has one in the water, and we must assume another building, with the fourth having one building. That would make three launched and in the water, with four, and perhaps five more currently building. They will have six-eight of these in the water by the end of the year.

Seems like there are going to be a lot of them for sure.

So that means by the end of 2012, hopefully 8 (056) would be in waters.

Any predications for 2013 & 2014, how many would be launched????

I will guess more than 8 per year for 2013 and 2014. If people are right about 056 replacing 037, there's a large number of replacements needed. In addition, I think PLAN is taking full advantage of the current plight of orders for shipbuilders, keep them employed and maybe even get them cheaper per unit.

I only hope to see different variants of the 056 such as one more geared towards ASW.

do you have any pictures from LN? We certainly have no photographic evidence of that thus far.

I'm curious too because AFAIK LN will be building the 056 indoors too so any photographic evidence will most likely come from insiders.

Bow of this 056 under construction seems different from the first couple launched and resemble latter ships of type 054A more.

It seems to be the same ship as the one on the right in this photo:

I would say no.

The ship on the right in the last picture has than inwards facing portion across the entire forwards section of the bow, while the ship in the 1st two pictures doesn't have this.

I believe that the last picture is that of a different ship and I agree that the new ship's bow does resemble that of the 054A frigate.

Which makes it a better-looking vessel.
